Organic, Small Town and Shopping Local FRUSTRATIONS

Okay!  I'm going to let it ALL OUT and it's not going to be pretty so if you are sensitive, stop reading right now.........

A brief overview... I have started buying organic over 15 years ago and I would say that for the last 10 years, I buy 100%.  Now I have recently added some wild foraging and I also grow a small garden.  10 years ago, I moved to a small town, ~10,000 peoples with the surroundings and started an organic delivery service to fill MY need and I sold it last year just before the arival of our baby.  I built it from scratch while in the mean time dealing with a devastating event in our family that took years to feel 'normal' again... I did amazing at taking the business as far as I did....  So now, I sold it in the hope that the new owner would WORK IT, take it to the next level and be as passionate about it as me.  It sure doesn't feel like it!  Maybe if he reads this, he can tell me wrong but I'm just writing what I'm seeing and feeling as a customer!

ORGANIC, WHY?
That shouldn't even be a question....
Wake up people...
We are in 2013 and WE ALL KNOW what the corporations are doing to our foods, organic isn't even the best so, do you imagine what the NON-organic stuff is like?  SCARY!  There is TONS of documentary to watch about the subject (Food Matters, The Beautiful Truth, Food inc, Sweet Mysery, look up Leonard Horowitz work, etc, etc, etc.....)

Are people are so dumbed down with the food they eat that they can't even get out of that trap??????  Maybe????  There is also the flavor industry that's playing on our taste buds and they have refined it to a T.  It's reality, look up flavoring industry on Dr. Mercola's Website or do a search on YouTube.

I am incredibly amazed at what people put in their mouth,
diesel in a gas tank!
If you can transmute it, that's good for you....WE ALL KNOW WHAT'S BAD, If you are okay with it then good for you and continue eating it... with LOVE! I am seeing the BIGGER PICTURE... The picture of the environment, our children and our childrens children, the survival of our planet, not just about you.
Let say we all START BUYING ORGANIC FOOD TOMORROW...
What do you think is going to happen?  A SHIFT and a BIG ONE.  Imagine if nobody buys foods in the middle ailes of the grocery store, what's going to happen?  The companies will Stop making them, right?  Wouldn't that be FABULOUS?  NO MORE OREOS and FROOTLOOPS.
We, as CONSUMERS have the POWER TO CHOOSE!  You want a change then be the change and I sure hope I am not alone.........

My frustrations, the new owner of 'my old store' haven't been ordering food due to fridge issues......Okay one week it's fine, two really?  but it looks like it's going to be 3 weeks by the look of it.  It's make it work time for him and when there is a block there are solutions (in my mind anyway, there are always solutions).......  I'll not going to expand on this part as it's not up to me to find solutions for him,  I've shared a couple with him already.

So due to NO 'organic' food at my favorite store I had to go to the big box store.............I put my daughter in the shopping cart I think for the fist time and all I was telling her:  "This isn't mommy's store style and I don't want to shop here, we'll find an alternative for you to experience the importance of food, real foods! I get to the organic section at the big box store and all there is is crumbs in the display......  Looks like it's been raided, literally!  Good and bad feelings, good that PEOPLE DO WANT IT (I knew it) and bad, nothing left for me.

For this week I found some solutions to my desires.... I talked to an organic grower and got some greens from her, THANK YOU SO MUCH  PATTY, YOU ARE AMAZING!  You have saved my frustrations, you are part of a change, you are moving forward with the times, you are my hero and I don't know what I would do without you.  Some of you might say, well why don't you grow your own....  Yes, your are right and I do what I can on that level but what's important is that I know where to spend my $.  I vote with it!  I am part of the change and I walk my talk!

Please people, show your support to the small business, buy local, let them know that they are wanted (this blog is my way of saying I WANT YOU)  That's why I am so frustrated!  I want my daughter to buy her food at the local market, at a small organic store that sells only foods compatible with our bodies (there is organic food out there that are mimicking the oreos and the frootloops and I tell you people it isn't good just because is says organic on the box... wake up, you know deep inside what's good).  Chips are chips organic or not.  Yes it will take you some time to make your own salad dressing from scratch, granola, cookies but man isn't  it worth it?  For you, for your children, our planet, the future generations?

aaahhhhhhhhh!  That felt good... If you are still reading, thank you!

I want to live to 350 years old!

I am in bliss with life itself!

There is so much to learn, grow, do, and love that I need more time.
Do you feel that way too?

I wish my days were longer, some scientists are saying (my husband told me about an article he read a couple of weeks ago) that time is speeding up and that we are only getting 16hrs / day instead of 24hrs... I don't understand the logistic of it completly but that's how I feel!  Does it mean that we only age 16hrs / day so in the end we should be gaining extra days and years???  Just a thought...

This weekend April 20th,
in Calgary!

It's The Seed Event, check it out at http://www.seedevent.org/

Is Sugar a close relative to all of our holidays?

Valentine day, Easter, Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, what else?  Am I missing one?

When did it moved in?  A long, long time ago...
I wrote this blog and then deleted it...yep...no fun.  It's late and I really don't want to write the whole thing again...

The basics of my message was:

SUGAR
and
it's addictive properties ...

Do yourself a favor and take the time to inform yourself on the subject.

There is a great book called "Sugar Blues"

It's a pocket book size,
carry it around & read 1 page/day...
if it's the only time you have.
This info will last you a lifetime.

When you find out where it comes from
and
what it does to your body,
next time you are exposed to it
you'll think twice before putting into your mouth
or
your childens.

Have a wonderful week =j

It's SPRING, I am Planting "DREAM SEEDS"!

I am SO grateful...
I had to wonderful opportunity to Skype with Jeanne Oliver on Thursday

She's so nice, kind and generous.  Her words of wisdom have been sitting with me since...  Talking with someone that share similar passion, she's a hard working woman, very organized and grows from her experiences...Her words are supporting me creating a stronger focus on were I am going with my DREAMS.
I am a creative woman, always have been and this is what I trully want to do.  I have experience with fashion design and a love for drawing so lets not re-invent the wheel and do what I know best... I'll be posting pieces, hopefully very soon.
So exciting!

I have a few things on the go, I am studying to become a certified nutritionist, after I have been self studying for years, it's time for me to get my certificats.  I love health too and it will bring an income to my family until I can make a living with my ART... I think that's being realistic!

Every DAY I am carrying for my seeds...
spending time STUDYING
and also
CREATING in the studio

Planting two different seeds at the same time...
Why not?
I can watch grow an apple tree and a rose bush at the same time if I give them both a little attention!

I encourage everyone that has dreams to do something about it every day, even if it's 10 minutes...
DREAMS are like PLANTS,
they need a little TLC,
to GROW, PROSPER, FLOWER and become
BIG and STRONG!

Have a wonderful weekend, enjoy the Spring and you too
plant your seeds...

Smooth road, Bumpy road, Rough road... Haven't we all been on all 3?

Yes we have... All at different levels and it doesn't matter what happens to us is more what we do about it that make such a huge difference.  For some observers, my road has been VERY ROUGH and I mean VERY VERY ROUGH!  If I look at it, maybe a little rough??  It's all a matter of perspective....  So, I'll give you a little insight, my husband had an accident almost 9 years ago and broke his neck at C5, C6 vertebra...   Now, I could probably write a book about it because it was a rough road indeed but we decided to deal with it, live it with love, growth, compassion, humor and honesty.  Today we are still together, the statistics of a couple staying together after an event like this is less than 10%, and we have a beautiful baby girl.  I think if we can get through this we can get through anything that's for sure and it's all a matter of perspective.  I feel wiser because of it!

That's a bit why I decided to blog, I have a lot to share, about our lives changes, adaptations, struggles and growth  in the hope of helping someone that's just going through a ROUGH ROAD THEMSELVES, because that's when you need help the most!  I also want to talk about ART as I have been creative all of my life and that's what literally SAVED ME and one more important thing, HEALTH (because that's all you need)...

My life could be a book, well it's written in journals but how good that is if nobody is reading them so I'll slowly be sharing with you all...

Today, I want to share with you ART.  A friend, Jeanne Oliver is teaching an online art class, starting April 8 and her classes are fantastic.  I've taken a few before and I'm considering this one too.  Here is the link, so go check it out:    http://jeanneoliverdesigns.com/blog/2013/03/13/the-journey-of-letting-go-my-brand-new-art-course-and-a-giveaway/#comment-23373

May everyday be FANTASTIC,

I have been taking Christy Tomlinson e-course and finding my old love for sketching...  I started sketching faces I was around 10 years old and I still have the sketches...  I should actually go find them!  I might...  They were pretty good for what I remember.  I love drawing faces, I'll show you more in the weeks to come... Stay tuned!

Creativity momentum... How the Universe provides!

Hello,
I'm not sure who is reading yet, but if you are please write me a comment.  It would be very encouraging to know what you think. I have "re-engaged" my creativity and it is in the slow gear right now until I can build momentum.  My two mantras for myself right now are Practice - Practice - Practice and Do It Now - Do It Now - Do It Now.

My daughter is now almost 10 months, already! and I can allow myself some time in my fabulous studio!

How I came to have this beautiful website and decided to blog is because last year, in April I took Jeanne Oliver's Creatively Made Business e-course http://www.jeanneoliverdesigns.com/item_260/Creatively-Made-Home-E-Course.htm.  The course was right around my daughters birth due date but, I had to register as it was calling me!  I was able to do two weeks before her birth and I literally finished the course the day it expired!  The most amazing thing happened, I had just given birth and after about 5 days I decided to check my emails. I had all of those congratulations emails in my in box from the Creatively Made Business ladies.... I sure was wondering what was going on, nobody knew I was expecting, except Jeanne Oliver so then I saw a message from Jeanne saying to the group that I probably didn't know yet as I had just given birth...  Didn't know what????  I had WON the fabulous prize Jeanne raffled off!  I would have never imagine that I would get to work with Sara Duckett from http://www.sadieolive.com/ to create my own website, get my blog going, I also have my Etsy shop set up (with nothing in it yet but it's there) and my judiththibaultdesigns fb page that I will publish soon.  Art has been my calling, passion, true love since I am a little girl.  I could spend days on an art project from school just because I felt like it and I'm still like that today!  By winning this prize, the Universe is telling me that I must pay attention, it sure is providing.  It's up to me now to do the work...  Thank you again Jeanne because without this prize I would have never, or not right now, started my own website, blog, ....

My lesson is when you are in alignement with your life calling and you "Do It Now, Do It Now, Do It Now" the Universe will provide what you need... Because there is never a perfect time to start or add something new to our busy schedules.  It was the literally the worst timing possible for me to start Jeanne Oliver's Creatively Made Business course but I did it anyway and I'm SO GLAD I did!

I planted a seed, slow and steady wins the race... there is something to those sayings that's for sure!

Follow your heart, it knows the way!
